The smartphone brand Xiaomi, which attracted attention by announcing that it will produce cars in March, announced that it will start to produce its electric car in 2024.
Chinese mobile phone brand Xiaomi has given a date for the electric car that it announced to produce in the past months.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that the Chinese smartphone maker will put its own cars on the mass production line in the first half of 2024.
Announcing that it will produce cars last March, Xiaomi has committed to investing $10 billion in a new electric car division over the next ten years. The company completed the business registration of its electric car unit in late August.
Accelerating hiring for electric car production, it is not yet clear whether Xiaomi will enter its new business independently or through a partnership with an existing automaker.
It is stated that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun will also serve as the CEO of the electric vehicle unit.
