Elon Musk, CEO of electric car maker Tesla, said the program will be expanded gradually once the full safety of the FSD is confirmed. Musk also assured that the company's engineers are doing everything possible to improve the functionality.
Tesla had previously acknowledged issues with a previous test build of its driving assistance system, after the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigated accidents involving electric vehicles.
The advanced software package with FSD, which allows automatic lane changing at difficult intersections on highways and city driving, is optionally offered to Tesla owners at a price of 10 thousand dollars. By the way, the program is still in beta.
