Nissan has announced that it will launch the seventh generation Nissan Z, designed with over 50 years of experience in sports cars, in the spring of 2022.
With each generation, Nissan raises the bar and pushes the boundaries of the Z. The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine of the 2023 model Z provides a significant increase in power output over the engine of the previous generation 370Z. With 68 horsepower in the engine and a 30 percent increase in torque, the Z's engine offers an estimated 15 percent improvement in acceleration. To achieve this, small-diameter turbochargers are used alongside the turbo speed sensor, while the twin turbo balances power output and response time. With its electronic variable valve timing (e-VVT), it offers excellent response and fuel efficiency in different driving options.
Its 6-speed close ratio manual transmission makes gear shifts even easier with the increased sensitivity of the EXEDY® high-performance clutch. In the rear-wheel drive Nissan Z models, Nissan uses an enhanced hill start assist control system that provides smooth acceleration for the first time. Automatic transmission models have a launch control system. Manual transmission equipped models also feature SynchroRev Match® and carbon fiber composite driveshaft added to 6MT Performance models. Thanks to the stronger body, electronic power steering and wider front tires, the Z's high-speed driving and handling in corners are also strengthened.
Automatic transmission models have two driving modes, standard and sport. While the standard mode is more suitable for city and long highway driving, the sport mode stands out with its fast driving and better handling on winding roads.
In addition, the new Nissan Z features a sensitive braking system thanks to its 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The Z Sport class uses 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and Yokohama ADVAN Sport high-performance tires, while the Z Performance class uses 19-inch RAYS® super-light forged aluminum wheels and Bridgestone Potenza® S007 high-performance tires.
