The long-awaited Audi e-Tron GT has finally been officially introduced. The electric four-door copue of Audi, which looks quite impressive in terms of design, is finally here.
The Audi e-Tron GT, built on the J1 performance platform designed by Porsche, therefore shares its infrastructure largely with Taycan. The new e-Tron GT will be available in two different versions, standard and RS. The version named RS is said to be Audi's most powerful production model ever.
All versions of the e-Tron GT, the electric four-door coupe from German automaker Audi, have two electric motors. In terms of contributing to performance, the model, which has a 2-speed gearbox like Porsche Taycan, also has high-speed charging support thanks to Audi's new 800V electrical architecture.
The Audi e-Tron GT has a battery capacity of 86 kWh. According to WLTP, the e-Tron GT has a driving range of 488 kilometers on a single charge.
Audi states that for the e-Tron GT, they focus on character that combines a sporty driving experience with luxury. Although the model is a four-door coupe, Audi is assertive that they will not cause headroom trouble for the passengers sitting in the back seats. Offering a “Gran Turismo” experience, the e-Tron GT has 405 liters at the rear and 85 liters at the front.
The air friction coefficient of the e-Tron GT, which stands out with its sporty design, was announced as 0.24. Functional air ducts on the edges of the front bumper contribute to aerodynamics, while active aerodynamic elements such as the rear spoiler and air ducts increase the vehicle's driving range by about 30 kilometers.
The Audi e-Tron GT Quattro has two electric motors that produce 476 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. As the name suggests, the motors placed on the front/rear axles provide four-wheel drive. The e-tron GT RS produces 598 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque. The power of the front engine is the same in both versions, but the rear engine is stronger in the RS e-tron GT.
The new Audi e-tron GT uses a two-speed gearbox, just like the Taycan. In addition, an "over-boost" function that provides 2.5 seconds of support to the performance has also been added. With this function, the Audi e-tron GT RS completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds, while the maximum speed is limited to 255 km/h. In the Audi e-tron GT Quattro, the 0-100 km/h time reaches 3.9 seconds, while the maximum speed is 245 km/h.
The new Audi e-tron GT models have four different driving modes that come with the Audi Drive Select system. Thanks to these driving modes called comfort, efficiency, dynamic and personal, all dynamics of the car such as suspension, shock absorbers, electric motors, transmission and rear axle differential lock can be adjusted automatically according to the selected driving mode. All dynamics of the car, such as suspension, shock absorbers, electric motors, transmission and rear axle differential lock, can be adjusted automatically according to the selected driving mode. In addition, the four-wheel steering system is another feature offered as an option in Audi e-tron GT models.
All Audi e-tron GT models use the same lithium-ion battery pack. The 86 kWh (93 kWh gross) battery pack consists of 33 cell modules and each module contains 12 battery cells. The 800V electrical architecture gives the e-tron GT 270 kW fast charging capability. In this way, a filling value of 5-80 percent can be achieved in just 22.5 minutes. With these values, a range gain of up to 100 km can be achieved with a 5-minute charge.
The prices of Audi's electric four-door coupe in Germany are as follows: The starting price of the Audi e-tron GT Quattro is 99,800 Euros, and the Audi e-tron GT RS is offered for sale starting from 138,200 Euros.
