The F-Pace, which accounted for 42 percent of Jaguar's global sales in 2017-2018, will be renewed in 2021 with an engine powered by SVR equipment and fine-touch visual changes.
The SVR's powerful supercharged engine comes from a 550-horsepower 5.0-liter V8, but torque output goes from 502 to 514.
Jaguar also gave the F-Pace the torque converter of the XE Project 8 and a Dynamic Start function based on chassis inertia to ensure that power flow to the wheels is not interrupted when the transmission changes.
Revised suspension components and a re-tuned steering system complete the drivetrain fine-tuning. Engineers also developed a recalibrated brake system with an electric booster that improves stopping performance.
An eight-speed automatic transmission linked to all-wheel drive and shift levers continues to come as standard.
The most powerful model introduced
Subtle visual changes have been made to the F-Pace that reduce drag by 35 percent while providing a cleaner and sharper design. At the front, the hood now extends to the edge of the grille, the headlights gain two separate LED accent strips, and the trim around the air dams in the lower part of the bumper has been reshaped. On the back, the lights leave the hemispherical insert for a completely horizontal design.
