Airbags in General Motors' (GM) vans and SUV models produced in 2007-2014 are at risk of explosion after prolonged exposure to high heat and humidity, as with other Takata airbags.
While many automakers around the world were recalling their vehicles due to the airbag problem, GM had applied to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to prevent the recall.
