ID.3, the first fully electric model developed by Volkswagen on the basis of the modular electric platform (MEB), achieved 5 stars in the safety tests conducted by Euro NCAP.
ID.3 was awarded 5 stars by the independent security organization Euro NCAP, which meticulously inspects the designs, technical structures and safety performances of the cars offered for sale in Europe after crash tests. Thus, Volkswagen, which prioritizes high security systems in all its models and makes it the most important part of the MEB concept, has been rewarded for their work on the first fully electric model ID.3.
ID.3 was rated 87 percent in the "Adult Passenger Safety" category, where precautions such as frontal and side impact, neck impact, and removal from the car were examined. The model achieved a very high rating of 86 percent in the "Child Passenger Safety" category. In the evaluation, three important issues were taken into consideration: the protection provided by child seat systems in the event of a frontal or side impact, the options for placing child seats of various sizes and categories in the car, and the equipment offered for the safe transport of children.
In the evaluation, where the AEB (Autonomous Emergency Brake) protection systems of the manufacturers for protecting road users such as cyclists and pedestrians were meticulously handled, ID.3 was able to get the highest score by Euro NCAP auditors.
Advanced driving support systems such as Lane Assist "Lane Assist" and Front Assist "Front Assist" are offered as standard on all equipment levels of the ID.3. Thanks to the central airbag for the front seats offered for the first time in Volkswagen, possible head collisions between the driver and front passenger are prevented when a side collision occurs. Optional equipment in ID.3 includes “Travel Assist ACC - Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist”, Emergency Assistant “Emergency Assist”, which enables semi-autonomous driving between 0-160 km / h. There are innovative driving and safety systems such as the Rear View Camera with Point Warning system and the Park Assist “Park Assist”.
