Bentley Chimneys, the most outstanding car Bentley offers in modern times, has surfaced. Here are the details
Bentley Mulliner Chimneys, the best representative of the Grand Tourer concept ever, were showcased at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe, England. In this way, only 12 cars will be produced, while providing the rare and exclusive features of the car, while providing the highest possible luxury and breathtaking performance to its customers. Each model will be handcrafted at Bentley Mulliner's workshop in Crewe according to the customer's personal taste.
The car takes its name from Laguna Chimneys, which is located in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, famous for its breathtaking natural beauty, and continues its strategy to name the cars that Bentley started with Bentayga in 2015. Each Chimneys, which includes numerous options and materials within the framework of a completely new and highly muscular body and a roofed Barchetta design, will turn into an extremely unique car as a result of the direct interaction between the Bentley Mulliner design team and the customer. The proud history of Bentley Mulliner goes back to the 1500s. Therefore, Chimneys, which stand out with their striking features, represent the peak of nearly 500 years of expertise and heritage in the art of automobile design.
For 12 distinguished people
“We created a completely bespoke Bentley for a two-seat open-top experience in Chimneys,” said Bentley Hall Chairman and Managing Director Adrian Hallmark, and included a series of future-oriented elements that were featured in the EXP100GT car for the first time as part of our centenary celebrations last year. Standing out as a rare and remarkable Bentley, Chimneys will be an extraordinary and collaborative experience for just 12 hairy people, who together, will create, collect, drive and appreciate one of the 12 cars currently produced. Our customers are just as excited about Chimneys that bring together car-buff car lovers with our team to create the most refined custom-made, hand-crafted cars and push the limits of our imagination and abilities. ”
Bespoke, hand-crafted luxury combines with the latest technology to create an exceptional driving experience at Bentley Chimneys. There is an improved version of the unique 6.0-liter W12 TSI engine at the heart of Bacalar, where a brand new body-building process brought to life by Bentley Mulliner comes to the fore. W12 TSI, the world's most advanced 12-cylinder engine, produces 650 HP power and 900 Nm torque.
Chimneys' double clutch, eight-speed gearbox provides faster and more efficient gear shifts. The adaptive chassis has Bentley's 48-volt intelligent Dynamic Ride System to provide a faster response in all conditions, exceptional control and the best possible settings. The air suspension system controls driving comfort and sideways rotation, protecting passengers from excessive movements and makes Bacalar effortlessly sensitive. An advanced Active All-Wheel Drive System adjusts the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels. This system allows Chimneys to go as far behind as possible during normal driving for optimum efficiency and dynamic performance.
A Unique Wrapping Cockpit
Inside the luxury cabin, Bentley masters created a unique cockpit. Chimneys' architecture has created a theme that Bentley Mulliner designers not only blends indoor and outdoor but also emphasizes the two-seater car character with a 'wrapping' cockpit design. The wrapper design, which is pure in terms of line and surface application, extends from a right angle center console to the inner panel and from there to the door panels. These elements then have a wrapping effect towards a semi-closed luggage compartment with a unique design behind the seats.
This skillfully created space was designed for bespoke suitcases from the Italian company Schedoni, which has been designing luxury suitcases for the automotive industry for almost 140 years. Designed exclusively for Chimneys, the optional suitcase fits perfectly with the upholstery and trim of the cabin. These two luggage 'capsules' extend from the inside out to wrap the seats and form a real two-seat car cabin.
Every detail in the vehicle has been uniquely designed. A new, gritty design has been created for the iconic 'bull's-eye' grilles - this design has also been used in interior spaces such as steering wheel controls, media and climate controls, and even subtle speaker covers. A refined and Dark Bronze detail was used using details such as Midnight Black Titanium, which would make the design even more sharp in every element. In order to bring the details to the fore more, metallic dark bronze color was used on the main controls in the dark, anodized titanium coating and iconic bull-eye air vents.
Since every car is designed and built with the Bentley Mulliner team, the design of the interior can be given its final shape as desired. Each car will be individually designed and created using many existing Bentley colors and materials. The best Beluga leather is carefully combined with Bentley's semi-gloss leather to create a dark 'tonsurton' character. Bentley Mulliner Khamun leather, used in the first demonstration car, reflects the wrapper cabin contact, while perfectly complementing the new and unique Yellow Flame exterior body paint.
Another unique technology Bentley Rotary Screen
All the elements that the hand touches are specially designed for Chimneys. Alcantra trims with a contrasting colored marking band are remarkable on a new D-shaped steering wheel. Alcantara coating with Dark Bronze details is also used on the gear knob. Unique leather strap door opening and seat belt opening mechanisms, unique digital instrument panel and a unique switch design make the luxury cabin an even better design.
At the center of the center console is the famous Bentley Rotary Screen. Bentley has elegantly designed this digital MMI display as a home screen that the customer can configure. There are 40 moving parts in the system and the Riverwood coating draws attention when the high resolution touch screen appears as a result of starting the engine around the system.
