Genesis G80, introduced with its new generation, was introduced. All the details are in our news.
Genesis, which we can call as Hyundai Genesis, has recently left Hyundai and became a single brand. As you know, Genesis is a luxury car brand of Hyundai, which is very successful in the USA and South Korea. Genesis G80, the new representative of the brand, has been completely renewed and appeared with all the design hardware details. The model, which has many common points with Genesis' SUV model GV80, was introduced in an online event in South Korea.
Genesis G80 has many common parts and similarities with the GV80 model, both in terms of design and mechanical infrastructure. The new Genesis G80 features 5-spoke 20-inch wheels, a 14.5-inch infotainment system in the center console, a 12.3-inch three-dimensional digital instrument panel and head-up display.
New driving support systems
In addition to the renewal of both the exterior design and the interior design, we now see more technological systems. The model includes an automatic emergency brake assist system, blind spot collision avoidance and highway driving assist system. The highway driving support system allows it to change lanes on its own if the vehicle is signaled.
5.0 V8 engine no longer available
The 3.8-liter V6 engine and 5.0-liter V8 engine option in the previous Genesis G80 model are now over. The new generation Genesis G80 has reduced volume in engine options. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 303 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque, while the 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine produces 210 horsepower. The new G80's most powerful engine option is the 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine, while this engine produces 379 horsepower and 530 Nm torque.
Aluminum is used extensively on the platform of the new generation Genesis G80, thus providing a weight of around 110 kg. In addition, the center of gravity has been taken down a bit, so we have a more dynamic G80. There is no official explanation for the price for now, but sales have opened in South Korea. It was announced that it would be offered to other countries in the second half of the year.
The market where Genesis G80 will compete is quite challenging. Among the competitors of the model are vehicles such as BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E Series.
