The German manufacturer had made the necessary preparations for the definition of the second ID model at the New York Auto Show, but for an unknown reason, the launch of the vehicle was taken to a later date.
ID.4, which will rise over the MEB architecture, can be preferred with a rear axle mounted engine or a second engine on the front axle, which makes the vehicle all-wheel drive.
It is expected that the upper versions of the ID.4, which are expected to be equipped with a single engine-rear thrust combination at the entry level, will be offered double engine and four-wheel drive.
The range of ID.4, which is expected to come with multiple battery options as in ID.3, is estimated to be minimum 400 km based on the ID Crozz concept.
Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to be offered with three battery options with a capacity of 45, 60 and 77 kWh, offering 330 km, 420 km and 550 km driving distance.
