The diesel engine versions of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Suzuki Vitara will either be banned from traveling to European roads or this problem will be corrected by brands since the diesel engine exceeds the emission limits applied in Europe.
According to the regulations of “Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW)”, he explained that the Jeep brand is a software that violates the emission rule especially in the diesel engine version of Grand Cherokee and this should be corrected.
In addition, he stated that the Suzuki Vitara, one of the most preferred SUVs in Europe, is in the same condition as the diesel engine.
In the statement made by RDW, it was stated that Suzuki should come out with improvements and otherwise the process of canceling his approval from the EU will begin.
RDW found that the “banned emission strategy” was applied in Grand Cherokee and Vitara models with the emission tests it carried out. No explanation has been made from Fiat Chrysler and Suzuki yet.
