At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi launched the world's off-road concept AI: TRAIL, the latest addition to the brand's AI concept family, which envisions electric and autonomous automobiles.
Audi IAA participates in the Frankfurt Motor Show with a wide range of models. 17 of the 30 cars to be exhibited are presented for the first time to car lovers. From the new versions of the Audi A4 and Audi Q7 to the A1 citycarver and the Q3 Sportback, the new Audi RS 6 Avant and the brand-new FE06, the representative of the brand in Formula E, are being shown for the first time statically.
The most striking model of the brand was AI: TRAIL, the off-road approach of the electric and semi-autonomous concept car family AI (Audi Intelligence). The fourth member of the family after Aicon, AI: ME, AI: RACE, AI: TRAIL has so far become one of the few concept electric cars developed for off-road use.
Interior design like a helicopter cabin
With four electric motors on all four wheels, the AI: TRAIL also brings Audi's quattro four-wheel drive to the future. The car, which helps the driver with many driving assistant systems in the field, offers autonomous driving at the 4th level on the road. AI: TRAIL, where four people can sit comfortably, provides a high level of visibility to the driver and passengers with its cabin and glass roof, reminiscent of a helicopter cabin, helping them to enjoy the terrain even more. The body of Hi-Tech steel, aluminum and carbon fiber ensures that the vehicle weighs just 1750 kilograms, including the battery, while bringing durability and agility.
Range up to 500 km
AI: TRAIL's range is also high since it is intended for use in terrain. Lithium-ion batteries provide a range of 400 to 500 kilometers in terrain and road conditions. In very difficult terrain, this range can be reduced to 250 kilometers.
AI TRAIL, 4.15 meters long, 34 centimeters above the ground. With 22-inch wheels, it can easily pass through half a meter of water. The 429 HP concept car can produce 1000 Nm of torque.
