Mercedes-Benz Stopping Production

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has made a decision to upset their lovers. The firm is halting the production of a model due to falling back in the competition.

Mercedes-Benz SLC series, 2020 model is preparing to say goodbye to the whole world. With the initials of Sportlich, Leicht (light) and Kurz (short), the SLK was launched in 1996 and sales of the car dropped 30 percent last year. It is the end of the road for the model which is very difficult to compete with the cabrio models of brands such as BMW and Audi.


For the SLC that will not be produced after the 2020 model, the latest vehicles called' Final Edition', which includes both the standard SLC300 and the AMG SLC43, will be launched next year. For both models, there will be only two color options, including selenite gray and bright sunshine. In this way, the closing version of the vehicle is intended to remain in mind. The SLC300 will use a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The 241-horsepower vehicle can produce 370 nm of torque. The Mercedes-Benz AMG SLC43 comes with two 3-liter turbocharged V6 engines. The 385-horsepower vehicle will produce 520 nm of torque. The SLC300 model increases from 0 to 100 kilometers in 5.8 seconds, which is reduced to 4.6 seconds for the AMG SLC43.
