Subaru slips arms for helicopter production

Subaru Corporation, which produces the world's safest automobiles with the experience of Symmetrical Continuous All-Wheeler, horizontal-positioned Boxer Motor and EyeSight Preventive Security Technology, has now announced that it will produce a new helicopter for the Japanese Army.



Subaru Corporation and Bell Helicopter collaborate on a new helicopter to replace the UH-1J military helicopter used by the Japanese Land Forces and produced by Bell. Under the UH-X program, the SUBARU BELL 412EPX will be produced based on the BELL 412 EPI model. The developed 412EPX will be the most important supporter of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force in challenging natural conditions.



Subaru Aerospace Company Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Shoichiro Tozuka said, "Subaru BELL 412EPX will provide a great opportunity to develop commercial relationships with BELL. We will also deliver the first deliveries of the SUBARU BELL 412 EPX, which will replace the existing UH-1J helicopter, in 2022. The new helicopters we will deliver will be used in Japan's defense and disaster relief. "

At the same time, Subaru Corporation has developed a large-sized twin-engine commercial aircraft Boeing 777 in the Handa Production Facility in the Aichi district of Japan, a mid-wing boxes of medium commercial aircraft Boeing 787, and a sea patrol aircraft (P- 1) produces the middle wing boxes of the cargo carrying aircraft.
